Life in Farmington

Farmington, Maine is a small town nestled in Franklin County, at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Western Maine. Although a small town, Farmington was a turbulent center of agriculture, trade, education and leisure. Thus when the Great War broke out, Farmington witnessed its affects first hand. The town had its own military company, “Company K,” which saw action of the course of the entire United States involvement. Additionally, as an agricultural center, Farmington was relied heavily upon to produce goods for the war effort.
